I'm Peter Braun — a software developer from Schlitz, Germany. KEAN Software is my small business for companies that want a reliable partner for software and IT.

My focus is web development and automation. I also help small businesses set up their IT landscape: which tools, which hardware, what the mail and file setup should look like — set up so you can run it yourself.

What sets me apart from an agency: you always talk directly to the person building it. One contact throughout — no project manager in between, no lost context.

Things you probably want to know.

Agency or individual?
Individual. KEAN Software is my small business — you always talk to me directly. For larger projects I work with a small fixed network of trusted freelancers, but I stay accountable.
How does the engagement work?
Intro call (free), written fixed-price quote, weekly updates during build, handover with docs. For ongoing work there's a maintenance contract with a monthly retainer.
Where is the hosting?
Servers in Germany (Hetzner, IONOS) or on Cloudflare. GDPR-compliant, with data processing agreement. On request: your own infrastructure.
Do I own the source code?
Yes. With the final invoice you get full rights to the code, the repository and the documentation. You're not locked in to me.
What does a project typically cost?
A static site starts around €1,500, a small web app around €6,000, bigger projects by time at €80/h. Fixed-price quotes are the default. Note: as a registered small business per §19 UStG, I do not charge VAT — the listed price is the final price.
Do you work outside Hesse?
Yes. In-person around Fulda / Schlitz; everything else remote — video calls, remote support, live previews. Works just as well.
